  8. AmiComSys is a AMarquee client program which you use to send messages
  9. to other people on a tcp/ip-net - e.g Internet. 
  10.  
  11. Now you can say Hi! to your friends on the net, or just see if they are
  12. connected.

  14. You can:

  16. * send chat requests
  17. * send WEB-requests.
  18. * transfer files.

  20. Future updates will include support for personal and public chat and more.

  24. There are two versions of this program with two different GUIs.
  25. AmiComSys.lha and AmiComSysMUI.lha.
  26. This is the GadTools GUI Version.

  28. AmiComSys requires amarquee.library v.43+ in LIBS:. Get it from
  29. the AMarquee-package - aminet:comm/net/AMarqueeX.xx.lha

  31. Note that the above only apply if your friends is using AmiComSys,
  32. and have an Amiga. ( An IBM-PC-version of AMarquee.library would
  33. be nice :-))

  54. BUGFIX(MUI-version): When three or more clients were logged in the client
  55. list went totally messed up. One client pointed to another's information.

  57. By mistake I used an undocumented feature of MUI (the listview entries were
  58. moved like in a queue).
  59. But fortunately the GadTools-version worked okey.

  61. BUGFIX(MUI-version): WEB-Request did not work.
  62. NEW: The client list is now only updated once when a client log in.
  63. NEW: A new logglevel, Everything. Simple logs onlines and offlines, and
  64. Everything logs start, end and client info updates too.
  65. NEW: Added homepage and ftpsite to Settings and tooltypes.
  66. NEW: Added HTTP and FTP buttons to Client Info (Double click on the client
  67. in the Client list).
  68. NEW: Added Send Confirmation to settings. You can specify if you want the

  81. NEW: To start AmiComSys with Run >NIL: AmiComSys had it's disadvantages, the output
  82. from the arexx-scripts were sent to NIL:. This led to problems because mostly
  83. you start it that way in a login-script ... Now AmiComSys has its own console window
  84. both when started from Workbench and from CLI.
  85. NEW: A new Tooltype PROGDIR. Set it to the path to your AmiComSys directory
  86. if you start AmiComSys from another directory than it's own, e.g. WBStartup drawer.
  87. This is needed so AmiComSys can find the rexx directory and the config files.
  88. BUGFIX: The loglevel was impossible to change in Logging Settings.
  89. NEW: File transmission.
  90. NEW: Set the time offset from Greenwich Mean Time in Program function settings. This makes
  91. the time values (in client info and message headers) right.
  92. If you for example live one time zone east of GMT you set this to GMT + 1 Hour.
  93. which is Central Europe Time (CET).
  94. You really don't need to set this, because it's read from your Locale-preferences.
  95. If it's Distant Savings Time you must check the checkbox. (mostly in summer time)
  96. NEW: AmiComSys gadtools version now use a stack size of 8192 bytes. This is
  97. automatically set if it's wrong in the icon.
